About this floor

Alps is a chunky 52 oz loop with a 7 mm pile, blending European wool and yak fibre. It resists stains, UV and fire, and its five soft alpine neutrals, inspired by snowy landscapes, bring a calm, natural feel to a room.

Wool is naturally warm, quiet and resilient. It regulates humidity, resists soiling and is naturally fire resistant, so it stays looking good for years.

Installation

We measure every room free of charge and plan seams so they sit in low-traffic areas and away from light sources. Our installers fit the carpet over quality underlay on smooth-edge gripper, and stretch it with a power stretcher so it stays flat. Wool loop pile needs careful seaming. Our team hand-finishes joins and stair nosings. Allow for a small amount of fluffing in the first weeks. Regular vacuuming removes loose fibre.

Care & maintenance

Vacuum at least weekly, more often in entries and hallways, using a vacuum with good suction and an adjustable head. Blot spills straight away with a clean white cloth, working from the outside in. Never rub, as that can distort loop pile. If a loop is snagged, trim it level with sharp scissors. Never pull it. Have the carpet professionally hot water extraction cleaned every 12 to 18 months. Use door mats and furniture cups, and draw curtains in strong afternoon sun to protect the natural fibre.

Is wool carpet good for allergies?

Wool fibres hold fine dust in the pile until it is vacuumed away, rather than letting it circulate in the air, which is why wool carpet is often described as anti-allergy. Regular vacuuming with a good filter vacuum is still the key.

Does wool carpet shed?

New wool carpet releases some loose fibre for the first few weeks. This is normal and settles with regular vacuuming.

How long does carpet installation take?

Most homes are fitted in a single day. Larger jobs, stairs or patterned carpet can take a little longer, and we confirm timing with your quote.
